ok guys so i bought these a few months ago with intentions of putting one in the suburban and another in the hombre well the hombre is gone & the suburban has no headliner.. yea i didnt think... so ive got the jimmy and my in dash mounted but not wired yet.

so here comes the problem ive got two 10.4" flip down lcd screens plan on installing them myself more then likly. however ive never done a flip down before ever. they have a mounting plate that detaches from the screen and i dont know what to do ive heard 1/4" ply wood and attach to the plate using bolts & screws and ive heard without the plywood using just the plate i dont wanna fuck up my headliner so advice & pictures possibly would be lovely. thanks guys..

I ended up not using the plate on either one of my installes it was way to hard to line it all up i just threw in the wood as the headliner on my frontier is way to thin to hold a tv either way. and i made sure i didnt use to long of screws cause they will go through your roof. Other then that it was an easy install.i have installed 4 all together one in my ex's minivan and 2 in my frontier and one in my car all flips. I think using the wood will be the easiest and it will support the weight over time also.

I know this was answered a while ago, But i've also ran into this problem at my old shop. Another solution we have done, Is attach the wood to the roof supports (if you have one to use) with some Fusor, it helps keep the wood in place, and also cancels out the problem with the TV sagging the headliner due to weight, also keeps the screws from comming loose due to the unit bouncing....

the best way 2 do it is to take tha plate off an slang tha bitch across the yard an get u a piece of ply wood u kno nuthin thick an use some short wood screws somthin long enough to go threw the tabs on the screen an into not all the way threw the ply wood an cut u a small x above it an feed ur wires threw it very simple
