SBC in Bodydropped Dime....

so i got a 350 for a great price and just tore everything off it today. gonna rebuild it and beef it up a bit and throw it in my '96 sonoma. currently, i got the 4.3L vortech v6 and plan to lose the engine and keep the tranny for the 350. i assume this is gonna work fine.

my truck is bodydropped 3.5", 20x8.5 up front with 5" backspacing, stock arms, slam re-7 bags, fullsize brake booster (was smaller than my stock one), no shocks, etc.....

can someone give me a list of what is needed for the swap? i think a friend of mine has a mild crane cam i will throw in there, but i need to know what kind of radiator, headers, heads, valve covers, carburator, motor mounts, intake manifold, etc.... i need. i want to keep a stock hood, but if this isn't possible, a small goodmark steel cowl hood. hopefully someone can help. i know there are a lot of SBC motors in bodydropped dimes on here. thanks!!!!!!!

are good starts to look at, you'll need the 2.8 mounts
4 core corvette is what a lot of guys use, but there are alter. also you'll need electric fans, stock arms will prob have to go or run short tube headers

as for the carb and manifold its really your choice and depends on your motor

go look in s10forum.com under the v8 section. Theres 90% of the information youll need on parts and installation. Just weed through the bs posts...

are new tubular arms needed? what are the pros/cons of ART and SD arms?

One of my homies are running ART arms and he's never had any problems he been running them years now way before SSD came out with theres beef eaten shit, Another homie of mine is running SSD arms and the same, he's never had any problems, But here are some pros/cons in my point of veiw SSD arms a WAY beefy then ART arms, SSD arms are guaranteed for life and i dont think ART arms are but dont quote me on that one, hope this helps and good luck on the swap

can someone elaborate on when you need to use tubular arms? like is it just for clearance issues? i don't want to buy them and find out i didn't really need them.

Depending on which headers you use, and what motor mounts you'll need the tubular upper arms for header clearance, on the driver's side only though I believe.

with your set-up you'll need tube uppers if your gunna run conversion headers.(you can section out the part of the stock upper, but i think its ghetto imo)

you can run stock arms if you use camaro manifolds.
