im getting ready to bag the rear of my d50 and i was wondering what everyone does first to last. i wana do it right the first time and have good ride quality and all that. i was thinking first do the notch, set the ride height, set the pinion angle, weld on the 4 link, then do the bag mounts? ive seen lots of build threads on here and some people do it all with the rear end all the way up to the notch.

also instant center is it that important? and where do you want the two lines to meet towards the front of the truck right? i seen alot of trucks that dont do that and they seem ok.

deff. do the notches first. i have seen people weld u bolts the the rear end up right and tack then to the frame that holds everything together...

i would suggest doing a 4 link first, then the notch, than your bag mounts. That way you can determine the arc of the rear suspension to where the notch will tuck at its highest point of travel. But if you have long enough bars it shouldnt make a huge differance of being dead center over the axel or just a hair forward. Also my most common find is jacking the axel up to the stock frame and using ubolts to hold it to the frame allows you to get your pinion close to where it will be at ride height. minor adjustments may be necessary after the frame is notch and normal ride height is determined.

I second that. I use the bottom of the frame to set the 4 link up. Just hold it there with u bolts and once its centered side to side and your pinion is set, then tack to axle to the u bolts.
get the 4 link done, cycle it through and determine the best spot for your notches.

i was gonna jack up my rearend and tack on some ubolts to hold it up, then setup my 4link so that sets my ride height, then once the axle is all linked up, notch the frame... will this all work in that order?

ok that seems to make more sence doing the 4 link first. thanks.
