what are you doing to it? are you going to smooth it out? i wouldnt used any less than 320 so you dont tear it up. even then itll still gouge it out.

yea gonna smooth it and fiberglass it.

I did it with mine. start with 80 just to get the texture off then move up grit until its smooth. I think the last grit before primer was 600.

it depends, is it hard plastic or soft padded? if its padded, i would remove the glued on pad from the underframe. if its hard plastic, sand it down with some 320 to get as much texture out as you can, then use a high build primer. sand that from 220/320/600wet and it should be good for paint. but if you are shaving any lines or whatever, do your glass and bodywork before that primer. and if you are just going to wrap it, 80 and 180 is all you should need. its covered, and the rougher surface holds the glue better.

Is it hard plastic under the soft padded dash? I wand to do mine since I won't have the money to get the dash I want for a while.

why would you waste your time with 600 then prime it?????? 320 then prime is fine....

When I did my Mazda I used 180 on the DA. Worked really good. Then used the adhesion promoter and flex additve for a nice coat of primer. after that wet sanded it with 400 and shot the color/clear with the flex too.
