So I've seen the plans and pictures that guys have made their own Tube benders with a bottle jack and such. Has anyone made a sheet metal brake that has some ass behind it? If so...lets see em.

Heres a rather simple one.

This one is a little more involved, and a little more beef.

I've got an idea kicking around in my head, and I'm sure someone has probably already made one similar, but I'll have to draw something up, and see how it comes out.

Something I scribbled up quickly, needs some refinement, but I was thinking something like this.

IF custom built this one, it works great.

We have a large shop press at work that we made a die for, and thats what we use. Works similar to what you have drawn up except its much larger and electric. The concept is good but I see a few areas that may be problems. Your going to limit yourself to 90 degree bends. Of course you could stop short and get the degree of bend you want but its going to lack that crisp edge. I can also see it binding alot unless you us some good bushings and ground and polished rod. I would add some return springs to the lower part so you don't have to push it back down manually.

This is the one I was originally looking for. I like this one the best.

Seth,The last one you posted is the one we use at our shop.I choose that style because the compression brakes scratch stainless.Works pretty good to about a fourteen gauge.
