Ok, seriously, i think the burban is cursed. Finally got to tow it 9 hours to Jon's place in Austin this weekend, i left my house at 12:30am, trailer tire was flat, had to slime it, went and picked up by buddy in little rock at 2am, when we hit texarkana, it started raining. It rained the entire way down there, while unloading, and the entire way back. Today, no rain.

So here's my question:

Since it's at a reputable shop, do i go whole hog and get it done exactly like i want, or do i just get him to fix the major stuff and make it road safe and sell it? I'm torn between having a badass squarebody and getting a newer suburban stock but bagged and stockfloored. My first vehicle was a square body, so i have a soft spot in my heart for those, and you don't see many that are laid out looking sweet, but with a newer one, it'll be a lot more dependable, i'll have a/c, etc. It's not a daily, I'd only drive it on the weekends and to shows. I'd be a little scared driving the 87 9 hours to scraping the coast, though, and i definitely don't want a trailer queen. What do i do? I'm leaning both ways equally, yall please hit me with some suggestions.

from your previos post, sounds to me, that if you do it all up the way you want it then you might end up w/ a bad-ass truck and a divorce...

btw. howd you end up posting it for sale, then trailering it to get work done on it?

keep it and make it dependable your gonna have some of the same problems with a newer one so why waste your time and money. put that money into the one you have. just my two cents

i say keep it. new rides are shitty, they fall apart inside constantly. i will never own a new car again once the mustang is gone.

drop the change on this one and you will end up cheaper than buying a new one and having all the work done.

I say keep it & get everything fixed on it so
that its a dependable daily or tow pig! Your going to have problems with anything that is modified & to be honest the old school look is sic as hell!!

Jumbo, Like I suggested before in other threads, make it drivable and keep the square body. Dropmember it! (mine will be here in a week!) Make the thing safe and reliable, then work on the cosmetics. Like it was said above put your money into the ride you have and not into something new; working with something new may end up opening a whole new can of issues. A/C can be put on the truck later, and if you do the right things to make it safe there is no reason it can't be a reliable daily. Just my two cents.

get the burb fixed, enjoy it some, something you never got to do with your s10. little by little do shit to it and then finally stockfloor it once you wanna go that extra step. If you try to do it all at once again, like the s10, it will end up like the s10, you'll be divorced and i'll be getting calls at 2am again. ha!
