im talkin bout installin da headunit under da heater controls....soo i was guessin a mazdainstall kit would work soo i was curious wat everyone else was useini already kno bout trimmin all da metal supports in dash and trimmin da heater vents..jus trin oo see wat everyone was usein to clean up da space oneach side of da headunit cause there will bea gap on both sides

You dont need a stereo install kit, all you need to do is remove that pocket trim so your stereo cage will fit in. You will have about a half inch gap on both sides of the stereo. The heater vents are the ones that are trouble but i've done this to five mazda's before it fairly easy, alot easier than reading you post's. WOW I've been drunk off my ass and have spelt less words wrong. I dont normally point these things out but that post takes the cake.

Your only option is to just make filler pieces for each side of the pocket if your putting it in the middle of your dash.

Good Luck Homie!

IMO its easier and looks cleaner to put it in the stock location and make one filler panel that wraps around instead of tryin to make 2 little 1/2" wide ones when you stick it in the dash.(unless of coarse its bodydropped and you cant use the lower piece)
