under the hood, on the frame, under the bed, right off the tank, really just wherever you have room and what you feel comfortable with.

mine are mounted under the passenger front seat pointing into the foot area so i can blow shit all over the inside of the truck and deafen my girlfriend. Actually they are right at the tank.

actually it does depend on where you mount your valves. it has to do with the air capacity in the lines between the bags and valves. the more air there is, the smoother/bouncy-er it will ride. if the valves were mounted on the bags, the air would have no room to travel when compressing and expanding, so it depends on your ride quality preference. but like I said the effect is minimal but very noticeable

air displacement was the word i was looking for

another thing you might want to think about is if you have the valves mounted off the tank, whenever you lift your truck you have to fill 30 ft or so of airline (which uses more air and your compressors will run more often) but i have mine mounted on the bags and when i lift my truck i only have to fill the bags and no airline. basically, i can lift my truck to ride height 5 times before the compressors come on instead of 3 (just an example). and i can't tell much difference in the ride quality since i moved them off the tank.

true that is a draw back, also with on the bags it fills quicker. but mine are alittle bit off the tank just personal preference

i like them off the tank thats how i had it on my old mazda but i have a chek valves half way down the line so i kept air half way thru the line at all times just hit the switch real fast while it was layed out to put some in the line worked bad ass and still filled fast but gave enough room for the displacement
