I want to get on the road again and I can't figure out a solid solution for the rx-7 rearend. I snapped a telescoping axle from Driveline Solutions. I beginning to wonder if the rearend geometry is out. Would I be better off with the stock cv's or do I need something more exotic? I have pic of the axles on my home page. The faster I get this fixed, the faster I can get to Rosa for a meeting. Thx

Its hard to fix something without seeing it. But yeah, I really don't know.

yeah it's hard to know without pics or even better, seeing it in person. How long did it take to break the new one? What were you doing when it happened, how high etc? You have access to a trailer? I would call up a few shops & see if they'd be willing to check it out. Maybe a hot rod shop would give you the time of day. Or you could talk dirty to Seth & you could tow it up here. I think he should have some free time to take a look. If I had the knowledge to help you I'd be more than willing to help

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it broke when you were rolling low. My buddy trevor used to own that runner and the axle angles looked terrible when it was low..... I would just jack it up and cycle the suspension and see what kind of angles you have?

my first qwestion is were the axles shortened or are they stock lengh? If they are stock lengh then I would just use a stock axle and see what happens. If they were shortened or you are gonna have to shorten stock axles I would do what my buddie did in his taco when we put in the irs. He took at stock axle just the shaft part to a machine shop and had them make a billet steel shaft to the new correct lenght but still was correct at the ends to be put together like a stock axle. I know this was not a cheap thing to do but it has never broken an axle either.
