I just bought a 96 S-10. It's got a skipwood..whoops..sorry...kenwood cd player in it. The douchebag that installed it cut out the factory harness and spliced the wires together. Does anyone (Metra, etc.) make a harness to splice the wires back together or do I need to hit a junkyard?

It has always blew my mind that an would cut up a harness to install a cd player...the wiring harness is only 10-15 bux! Sorry...just had to vent there a little bit... Thanks in advance for any answers!

what would make it wrong *IMO was if the wires were twisted together and electrical taped.. if they had nice solders.. or butt connectors and heat shrink.. i would consider it very thorough.

yeah you do lose sound quality going through the factory harness... that's why i cut mine out and used real speaker wires. does that make me an :ASSHOLE:

Why would you really want to take the time to install the factory harness again? are you putting a factory radio back in? if not then just use the cut wires, resolder all the connections of your new radio and put the dash back together and forget about it. GM wires are very easy to figure out with basic trouble shooting skills and a meter or test light.
