This definately comes as a shock. I have an extremely high degree of appreciation and respect for what Boyd has done for the custom vehicle world. He was a true pioneer and creator of some amazing machines. I hate I never got the opportunity to meet him. He will definately be missed. I can only hope that one day I will be capable of building a badass ride even close to the caliber of what he has produced. R.I.P. Boyd....you will be missed.

Rest In Peace. He did some sick ass rides and had great creative thoughts of what a custom hot rod and other cars should look like.

Wow, I remeber reading old hot rod magazines 15 years ago and seeing some of the amazing and ground breaking cars he built back then. It seems not much has changed as he was until his recent death at the forefront of building innovative, high end hot rods, not to mention inspiring so many people around the world. We as a community would not be doing what we are doing had it not been for men like Boyd. Not to mention the fact that he brought this hobby to the mainstream, and made it acceptable among so many genres.

This is a sad day indeed for not only the custom automotive community, a legend has passed and will be missed greatly. I don't think he ever quite knew just what he meant to the custom world.

Rest in Peace Boyd.

My thoughts go out to your family, employees, and whomever you and your efforts have touched thru out the years.

I read something about his death being from "complications from surgery" but they never said what the surgery was even for. It did mention that he was in and out of the hospital for pneumonia.
