Hi, i sold my Dually last year for a good price, and bought a Corvette C4 from 1984 .
But its to small , so i want A dually again.
Now i'm going to look saturday for this dually. " target="_blank

What do you guys think of it? How can i know it's for sure a 496 cui stroker ?

Just by looking at it, not going to be easy. If it were a Vortec engine the difference between the 7.4 and 8.1 is pretty obvious as long as they're in light duty trucks, the 8.1 has coil-near-plug and the 7.4 has a traditional distributor. (late Vortec 7.4's used in medium duty were also coil-near-plug, increasing confusion)

I'd expect the guy to have all the supporting receipts for parts, machine work, whatever - or just assume it's a generic big block.

Good luck!

the only way to tell if it is really a stroker motor is to measure the cyl. volume. the only real good way to do that is with the head removed. measure the bore and the stroke and multiply by 8. that being said unless he has recipts for the build take it as a 454 and if it happens to be a 496 thats great. just my .02 but I have worked on a bunch of "stroker" motors that end up being stock stroke engines that have been misrepresented in the advertisement.

I got it . It needs some work but its not rotten and everything works.
Need some new carpet and headliner. According to the owner it has a 496 stroker with an allison automatic gearbox with overdrive, which runs great en shifts smooth.
It has the 16 inch Alcoa wheels , but later i want 22" ofcourse.
He will get me a Dutch title with licenseplates and new APK (APK= a check every year or two year if your car is older then 30 years )
But i have to wait 2 weeks for the dutch title.

Got the Dually . Will take pictures soon.
I drove 200km today to get it home , and it drives good with the overdrive.
It has an Allison 545 transmission , with extra cooler.
I got my licenseplates now , but i need some info about how much a dually may pull.
It's for the towing weight on the papers.
Anyone know a site or something were i can get such info ?
And where can i get centercaps for my dually?
