this may be a stupid question to some but i have never worked on fords much, but i found a mid 60s fullsize shortbed for slae and i am wondering what kind of suspension front/rear that it has. it is in a fenced in lot so i wasnt able to get close enough to take a peek. also if its i beams whats the easy way to lower it not spending a lot. thanksps- if i get it does that make me a traitor

front could be solid axle or split i beams. rear is leaf spring. front depends on year 65 was the first year of split i beam but it was an option in 65 and 66. 60-64 only solid axle and 67-69 split i beam

so if it has the i beams is there a way to lower it without replacing them?

i have a 71 ford and it has the solid front axle. looks like i can maybe lower it to about 5 inches off the ground and it would be on that beam. most people just swap out the front suspension.

I lowered mine 5" in the front by relocating the I-beam mount. I just re-drilled the inside mount hole up about 1 1/2" and cut the spring to get the camber right.
