Not sure if this has been covered before but has anyone out there done this? I am guessing it isnt too hard but finding a solid 4 banger might be a challenge. Thanks for any help to let me roll a stock hood.

I was thinking about doing the same swap due to GD gas prices.

That would be a great tech write up too. You
can look on yotascene.com for some help cause
the guys on there are good with info as well!

im in process now of swapping a 90 supra 7mge engine into a 91 4x4 v6 truck.the supra engine has 50 more hp than a v6 and gas mileage is about the same as a 22re.not that hard of a swap either.

- One (if not the)main reason I want to do the engine swap is to be able to run my stock hood. I also am aware that the 22RE has better performance ability than the dog v6. I have thought about a supra swap in the past but I dont have any measurements to go off of as far as clearance. If you have any info I'd appreciate it.

pirate4x4.comhas all the info needed on the supra swap.there are about 6 wires u have to hook up.gotta use a 22r trans with the supra bell housing.if u have a 4x4 u have to notch the oil pan to clearance around the irs suspension.rework the motor mounts slightly.

im sorry,i meant to say ifs suspension in my last post, not irs

I guess knowone has really done this here. The supra motor sounds interesting and I'll definitely look into it more. Thanks for the responses.
