We've been putting C4 (1988-1996) IRS in C-10s for a while...it's tough to get more than 7.5-8" of lift out of em before the half-shafts bind. The width is perfect.

What about a newer Explorer Dont know how wide but I think it could be good if u wanted a nice lip on the wheel and I think it has the 8.8 center section witch would be great for a full size

i did a vette irs in my s10 shortened it 8" total but what was said above about lift is correct i only get 8-9 inches of lift before the half shafts bind ... so i stuck to locking it out at 8"

'99-'05 Ford Expedition...13-inch brakes, 8.8-inch ring gear...somewhere around a 70-inch track width..i get 14-inches of bind-free travel from mine with custom axles and the stock cv's and knuckles.
