So I am having trouble getting axles made for my Dakota, The rear end shop that shortened the rear end cant find a place that will make the new axles because they have the stupid ring clips on the shafts. They are telling me that i need to go to a Ford 9" and I already paid to have the rear end done. Who has done this and were did you get them done???

I do live in Toronto, Canada so I know that chances are I will either need to get them shipped or pick them up myself, but I really need to know who will make them??

Thanks in advance

Chris

Hey man, I live near T.O. too. I also have a Dakota that is laid out with a narrowed rear end. I think the shop that did mine just cut the stock axles and then resplined them. I dont remember what shop did them but i believe that is what they did.

I live in Burlington, what shop did the air ride??? that may help me in narrowing down who did yours. The rear end shop said that his place wouldnt even shorten them.

There is a place in Indiana called Moser axels that did a set for Taylor at Barely legal in Michigan(who are doing my control arms) but if I can get them done locally I would much rather do that. Shipping is crazy.

Flatline did my air ride. Sorry about not being able to remember who did the axles. I do know it was a race shop though.

and also tell them to think twice about advising people to switch a ford 9" rearend, for a kota, because our speedometer sensors are in the stock rearends. Just contact mosier, they will be able to help.

I was actually looking at some pics of your truck a few hours ago when I was checkin on my truck. That is if your Dakota is red and your name is Chris.

Casual is doing mine

And for everyone that said go with Moser, thanks for help gonna call them in the morn.

On Dakotas one axle is shorter than the other. Its cheaper to put that axle in the other side and shorten the housing to match, and then get one new shaft for the other side. Only buy one new axle. And go through Moser.
