Auto Cad 2006

For those of you who use AutoCad. I'v had it for about a year I guess, but never used it until last week. I gotta be honest I'd rather use 2000. I played with the 3D and it seems easier to use than on 2000. what do you think about it.

ive used 3-d on 2005 and one other one and never really liked any of it. i started using solidworks and it is so much better with doing 3-d work. now i only use autocad when i need to print full scale drawings on a big plotter.

we use 05 at work and i think its alot better than 2002. so many more commands to use and what not. but then again, i can write my own lisp routines and stuff to make my own commands. you can also edit the .pgp file so you can make the basic command what you want them. i typically have my mouse in my right hand so ive switched alot of the commands to the left side of the keyboard so i can draw faster. give it some time, you'll find its quirks that make it better. unless your running the LT version... that sucks balls.

ive also used the 07 lt version which had a few extra features that 05 and 06 didnt but because it was the LT version, it didnt allow for much custimization and didnt let you edit blocks in the drawing or xrefs which sucked.

i use autocad 2008 and 2008 MEP for a living. i prefer MEP for 3d but i use the E (electrical) portion. i don't know that i would use it in a rendering type situation, i'd choose something like lightwave or 3dsmax or maya or something... but for my work i love autocad.
