i just bought a 96 4runner which is the tacoma body style and plan on bagging and bodydropping it...i was wondering why everyone chose to run the older torsion style yota clip rater then the taco clip with rack and pinion?...i have access to a 2wd taco clip but was wondering if theres some reason to use an 84-95 clip pros or cons ...and it has the 3.4 v6 auto 2wd

Tacomas have bump steer issues. Not as simple to work with as the 84-95 clip. There wasn't really a solution for the bump steer until Max came out with his spindles.

I think at this point, the extra $150 would be well spent on the '94 clip. If only for the slightly narrower width. Seth is right tho, the early clips are definately easier to work with.
