Im about to start my car hauling business but I need a dually. Which 2wd dually should I go with?

that is a hard question to answer. you have alot of factors to consider. how big of a truck do you want meaning reg cab,ext cab, crewcab, or maybe a topkick. then, how big of a trailer you running? then, gas or diesel? i know guys that run both, but if your doing alot of longer distance hauls, pretty much hands down to the diesel due to gas mileage. i like gas better myself.but thats me. then your personal preferance of brands. chevy, dodge, ford. and most important, do your homework and know your budget.

If money is no option then I would get the new chevy dually with a duramax, they list them as being able to tow like 22,000 lbs or something like that. My 07 duramax only is rated for 14,000 lbs, which I am sure is way underrated but the dot I am sure wouldn't think that way. I don't know what you are looking for in price range or what you are looking to tow, a 3 car wedge, 48' enclosed, etc.

I am partial to gm, but the other brands are good too.

Dodge Ram with a Cummins.

I really do not think you can go wrong with any of the trucks from Chevy, Ford, and Dodge. However there are certain years in these trucks that you need to steer clear of. Chevy you need a late model 07+, Ford you can use any 99+ with a 7.3 powerstroke or the late models with the Scorpion motors, any Dodge with a Cummins will tote the pill with no problems.

Like the other guys said, there are questions you need to answer first. I'm a GM guy till I die but the Dodge's turn tighter, the Cummins is bulletproof and cheaper to work on than the others. My 03 Ram gets a TRUE 18 mpg when pulling my little enclosed and I've seen as high as TRUE 24-25 mpg empty if I set the cruise at 65-70 and keep my foot out of it. I know the autos in the Dodge's suck so mine has the NV5600 and Southbend Con OFE clutch. 407,000 miles and still trucking!
