i just bought a project dime that has a stockfloor b/d on it. the truck came with a 350 and some new motor mounts. well on thursday i went to set the cab on for the 1st time with the motor in place. well the mounts have the motor to high. i was just wondering what everyone else used in their dime with a motor swap. i will proably cut these mounts down.it also looked like the firewall may have to be set back some.any pics or info would be great thanks.

me and my lil bro have a box style 1988 s-10 with a 350, we just had to set the firewall back for the exhaust tubes, but to set the motor down, try to drop the motor mounts down

the motor mounts are a v 6 to v 8 conversion mount and they are as low as they will go. i think i am going to have to make somemore.

yeah the firewall needs to be back a bit for the distributer. Mine is 1st Gen, but I did a lot of looking around before I did mine. I saw a lot of 2nd Gens with v8s and I used the kit on mine first, but ended up making my own mounts in the end.

dont forget about the oil pan, and trans pan. i gota 4.3 with the 700r4, both are rather close to the ground. my trans is the same that go on v8s. i raised my trans tunnel up enough to clear.

make sure the frame mounts r for a 2.8 that might lower you down where you need to be

ummm also man i did this swap bought a year ago.i cant remember what they were, just google hot rod motor mounts.there are weld in mounts that i used to drop the motor, and the firewall sould only have to be tubed for the headers on te passenger side.and i also tubed it for the distrubuter, could havr got away without it but i used a billit m.s.d and it was to close for me.
