ive seen auto-air-colors and im interested if anyone has experience with them or any other airbrush paints that you would recommend?

and another question with the waterborn base coats: are there any problems using certain clears (brands or anything)?

auto air seems like good stuff if used the way its designed, createx is good, but mostly just use nason base/clear through mine

Well, any paint that can be thinned properly can be airbrushed with. I myself limit AA paints to freehand work because I've had problems with it lifting after being taped over for multiple layers. Now, you'll get twenty more people chime in telling you they use it "all the time with no problems at all." It is probably the most marketed 'automotive airbrush' paint right now and it does have some cool colors. I'd say order a sample set and try it for yourself. You may love the stuff. I can't risk an expensive paint job since I've personally seen it fail. I've had better results sticking with urethanes. JMO
Good luck.

Supposedly the new line of createx auto air is a lot better then the old stuff. I personally have not tried it yet but I couldn't stand the old stuff. It never sprayed right for me. It would clog and dry on the tip and whenever I tried to thin it, even just a little, it would run. Also, dont ever let water based stuff dry in your airbrush. Once it dries, it cross links, hardens and is a pain in the ass to clean out. Some people use them with great results, but I personally will stick with automotive urethanes. Best advice is to get a few colors and see how you like em. Definately experiment first before using them on a customers paint job.

well thanks for the input. i might do that sample idea and see how i like them and if not i could always go with the regular base coat urethanes. im more familiar with urethanes anyway, havent messed with waterborns that much. has anyone used both on one project do they cause problems with one-another like base color a whole car, then auto air colors or creatix over that then urethane clear. would there be a lot of solvent problems, lifting, or drawback?

simply what brand and line of paints would you recommend for airbrush? seanb said nason, colin said creatix new stuff. anyone else?
