Unfortunatly ,after spending over 40,000 bucks on that thing....yes, ITS DEAD!(but still drivable).i still need another 15-20,000 to finish that thing.
i got discouraged after getting ripped off a few times. For instance ,the owner of the burgandy mazda in the pics below mine.Nice ride and great glass work, the owners name is Shane. I paid him a few hundred bucks to make me a dash...well guess what.i never got it ,and he stopped contacting me.This kind fo stuff happend to me over and over.
Not only that, my little girl is growing way too fast and i've got family to support.
When i did have a few bucks to spend on it ,my buddies at the custom shop did not have time and or would not return my phone calls to get some work done.
Now i really can't afford to continue on that thing.
I could'nt afford to drive it even if it was finished (i get 5 miles to a gallon ,thats what i get for building a hot rod).
whats left to do on it:
bodyworkpaint interiordashconsolestereo enclosure/installglass (custom made)engine compartmentengine (fuel injection)
yes ,I estimate that to be around 15- 20 grand for quality work.
i make great money as a tanker driver, but not great enough with the way things are for me (financially )today.
You want my wheels sonikk?
NO!! you cannot have my wheels.i paid 6000 bucks for those wheels and tires.4300 to have bonspeed custom make my rims to specs. Those are just going to rot with the rest of it.
Man I hear ya, that is how I feel about my dawg! I have 4 kids and a wife and a mortgage. While I make pretty ok cash in the software industry it all goes to them and the house so I never have any left for the ole dawg. I have alot of great ideas that I just cannot get into because of the cash and not anything to expensive just things are tight and real life caught up with me. So believe me when I say I understand. The part I don't understand is what is up with people riping you off man? Is the scene in cali like that? Up here things aren't perfect but we take care of our own.
I say keep driving it just how it is! Mine will be on the road alot more this year than previously and I might even hit a few shows!
