Not far from wiring and plumbing my air system. Just curious on your thoughts of the best ways. I have wired air systems many times but I want this time to be the best and with little maintanence in the future. I have read soldering is the best for the wiring. Do I twist the two ends together or just overlap the ends before I put down the solder? What do I need to cover the soldered wire with afterwards? Also, whats the best soldering kits for the $$? As far as plumbing, where do I get rubber grommets from to route airline through metal? And last but not least your opinion on PTF and compression fittings(i know this topic has been around just cant find it by searching) and the best place online to get them from. thanks in advance

thanks for the free plug Neal!

i love PTC fittings myself too. there easy to use and pretty much "dummy" friendly.

dont have any soldering tips but as far as running the wire and concealing it, Neal's suggestion is a good one.

A little "over done" but I have always wanted to get a piece of tubing bent to match the frame shape and box the frame with that in the middle of the frame, so you see half the tube, and no wires.

when soldering, first cut a piece of heat shrink tubing and slide it down the wire, then twist the wires together. then put the tip of the soldering iron on the bottom of the wires, let them heat up, then put the solder (wire) on the top of the wires. this lets the solder melt through the wires instead of blobbing around them, making a stronger connection. then slide the heat shrink over the connection and hit it with a lighter or heat gun.
