max, getting ready to do my rear suspension and wondered if you had an opinion on a double triangulated type set up. just wondering how this would affect roll/instant center etc.of corse anyone else that has an opinion also please chime in.

thanks for the input, read it and it helped a lot. much apperciated.

Does that mean that all of your questions have been answered?

not really, it helped but didnt answer all. i can basically see how the instant center could still be calculated traditionally but with the weird roll center, would it be feasible for a street driver? seems to me like it would have 2 roll centers, but, wouldnt the actual roll center be a point somewhere between the two? am i way off thinking this?

The roll center that you are thinking is a single point is actually an axis Technically speaking it should be addressed as the relationship of the upper and lower bars to the rearend, but that is a whole lot tougher to explain that then just a simple point. Up until now, I have only described the roll center of the rearend as a single point, and it is, but it's the singlt point where the axle centerline crosses the roll axis. The upper bars have a roll-center and the lower bars have a roll-center, the line drawn between each of those points is the roll axis.

On a double triangulated 4-link, the roll axis will be at a faily severe angle and will generate either roll-oversteer or roll-understeer which isn't always bad, but needs to be kept in check.
