Hey everyone, I am in the market for a new hood on my yota but I want to know what all my options are before I jump on one. I know showdown customs makes one and its suppost to be badass but I am looking for something besides the regular cowl hood and I don't really want to make another hood. the last one kicked my ass trying to make the underside look good. I would like to find a steel one if I could get away with it. anybody got some info?

Jareth, I might have a solution.
I now have the mold to make S-Runner type scoops, and sence it's a bad idea to graft a glass scoop to steel, you can do glass to glass no problem.
what do you think about a cowl hood with a S-Runner scoop in it?
(CALL IT A HYBRED)

IMHO toyota hoods look kinda poopy any way but stock..the lines on them already are perfect and anything else you put on them just dont look right

i will say tho...there was one hood way back in the day for yotas that basically looked like a stock one..but was just a little taller bubble....but the guy stopped making them...i called him once and he said the only thing he would do was sell me the mold..i checked into doing that..but just didnt have the cash or the means to actually make them..i cant remember the guys name for the life of me..but brent (svrdshortbus) had one on his old white xcab yota..

Agreed, but if nessesary (like mine) Im gonna make a cowl hood that mimics the stock lines. Best way to go about it IMO.

i have the equivalent of a 4 inch body drop, and my hood clears and i can stick my hand between my intake and inner bracing..and it wsnt very hard to do..motor mounts and oil pan/crossmember was about it
