what do you guys think would be more reliable just regular 1/2 DOT air line or hardlined with soft copper...

Ive never had personal experience w/ copper but Ive been told it holds alot of moisture which would make its way into the bags...could be wrong tho...good luck w/ it

i heard copper is'nt really made for a lot of vibrations and can lead to cracks and leaks

ive ran just about everything on my trucks in that past, soft copper works really well cuz its flexible. I did that cuz i had problems with plastic line b4. copper worked really good on my last truck, but on my ranger i have regular DOT 1/2 plastic line, and have no problems. It all has to do with how you route it, just keep it away from sharp objects obviously, and keep it awy from heat ex. your exhaust. u can buy that foam stuff that they put around piping b4 they pur the cement, that helps protect the air line, just make sure to secure it when at all possible. ive also ran the aluminum or what ever its made of, and it seems to be for briddle and if it gets rubbed a little bit it tends to break or cut open very easily.

i like steel braided air line.

I use the dot air line. only thing is you have to watch for sharp area's and heat. You cannot run the dot air line from the compressor to the tank to much heat.never had a problem with it.copper is very soft and over time will you will have stress cracks as it does not handle alot of vibration.stainless line is the best but it costs a lot so do the fittings.

I know im not going to do steel braided line becuase its so damn expensive n so are the fittings just like longnlow said. i still havent made up my mind, but im thinking that im gonna stick with the DOT line and just secure it alot better than what i have...

use soft copper like refrigeration line, it won't crack. and if you use 3/8 it's damn near as flexible as plastic lines. I've got alot of 1/2 on mine, it's just a lil harder to work with.

i work on rvs for a living and they all use 3/8 soft copper for there lp gas lines in and under them and weve never had a line crack and they get a lot of miles on em and alot of em ride like ass so there prone to vibration
