i feel i wanna try to body drop my 77 crewcab, where can i get info on doin this? how much can i drop it? and i want to keep my stock floor . can i just cut around the edges where the floor meets the doors, and then what do i do with the fire wall and rear of cab?? then as far as the bed, can i just raise the floor in it as well?? i do think i need to cut the front frame and drop the rad support for fenders to fit.. i usually do all my own work ,but never body droped a truck before. i need info. i asked local shops but they either want a fortune and be put on a yr or better waiting list or they dont want to touch it..

let me give you some advice....do lots of research...judging by your post you arent really sure how to go about bodydropping....you mentioned keeping he stock floor and cutting by edge of door....that is a Traditional BD and your gonna loose a good bit of legroom...stock floor is where a new frame is made 4 inches shorter than your stock 8 inch frame....4 inch body drop lays hard on these trucks...you may also need to Z the front frame and your bed floor unbolts on your truck so you can unbolt it and move it up and weld or bolt it back in....check out Sparks build and i also have a build thread on mine....there are several more build threads

ok ive been lookin at sparkys build and if cut the bottom of the frame like he did andz the front frame like he did . is that considered a stock floor drop?? like i said im new to this . and that will give me 4 inches or so lower and my rockers will be lower than the frame??

i gotta jus say x 2 on the researching. read and read and look at pics ect. theres alot of great threads on here. as far as bodydropping goes, i personally follow sparkys build, comegetsome build and ben shadys build. also.. you didnt mention what wheels your planning on running, how low you want to go ? lay pinch, rocker, door ? those are few variables.

ok i want to keep the stock wheels on it , my goal is to eventually lay on the pinch welds when i bag it, id like the body to sit just a few inches off ground while driving it around.
