My brother is kicking around an idea and is looking for a vehicle that has a 58" front track width to start a full frame build for an SUV. Anyone know of any truck or old car frames that are roughly that size? The S10 is only 54", so that would be too small for it.

I found the Colorado has a 57.5" track, but then we would get stuck with 6 lug. Would it be harder to widen an S10 or Toyota front instead?

Why not use the S-10 or Yota clip and make longer a-arms for it? That would work as long as you could get everything you needed to inside the frame rails.

I am with Chris. ^^^^^^^ Or you could widen the crossmember a little? But the longer control arms would be the best. IMO.

Good plan, I'm sure that would be more cost reasonable as well with just S10 parts. I would just be able to go an extra 1" and run a nice wide wheel in the front. Thanks for the input.

You'll also get some more lift as long as the balljoints allow the extra travel.
