I just bought a 2008 Saturn Ouitlook. It has the wood looking interior plastic trim and I HATE IT!! I want to paint to color match the exterior. Is base clear okay for this type of plastic pieces? I have done it on my old truck, but it wasn't a brand new vehicle. The only thing at risk of scratchin, chipping or cracking is the center console, but clear is fairly flexible. Look at a door ding, anyways, anyone have some insight as what would work best?

just scuff it up and use adhesion promoter when painting plastic, and base clear is fine

yeah i would go with a red scotch brite pad, adhesion promote it, and one thing that also helps with the paint flexing with the plastic is using a flex additive in your base and clear. I would go with dupont on that one, but its really all up to you..
