I have a 01 Tahoe limited and the Cats just went out and its looking to be about $800-900 to replace them. Now i can go have a full Dual Flowmaster kit put on the truck for $200, but the O2 sensor cant be taken out and everyone says you have to keep them. Does anyone have suggestions that are cheap and easy solutions i cant think im the only one thats encountered this. Thanks

Summit racing, call them and tell them your problem and vehicle, and they can tell you which universal cats will work. I just picked one up for 50 bucks for my s10. To top it off, it's only like 10 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide.

go to neusound on 160th talk to jeff the owner he will hook it up, my tahoe has no cats just straight pipes with o2 sensors left in and it still passes emissions. As long as your check engine light isn't on your golden! I just had mine checked in December

An emissions machine cant tell if the cat works or not. so cut the end off, take out all the insides and put it back together.
Or, buy the cheap aftermarket ones at Pep Boys, they have excellent flow and are small and install easy.

def check to make sure the O2 is in the right place or weld the bung in the right place.

you can space the o2 out with 2 sparkplug anti foulers. i found that out looking for some o2 simulators on ebay.

buy the y-pipe and install it yourself? they bolt on,no welding. 800-900 seems kinda high

I am having the same problem with my 98 Hoe. Found the whole replacement y-pipe for around 300.
