so i ran into some rear fitment issues when i put my 20's on my tacoma. rear rubs, and i need to adress that. i want to put on a older rear end on my truck i have access to a 93 rear and an 86 rear. but i was thinking even older for maximum tuckage, but i dont know if i would have to get a different drive shaft or about the brake stuff. i dont know if you can tell how bad it is in that pic. i do have it up on mautofied so you can follow the link to the other pics.

seth posted measurements of both many times, figure out how much narrower you need. id say do the 86 though, should be enough without being too much or being an older weird setup.

The driveline flange is the same, and the third member should also be the same. Get some new tabs and go for it.

thanks seth. how bout an 83 4x4 rear? how wide is that? i couldnt find the measurements on that.can i put my 5 lug brake stuff on that? thats the only one i found so far.my friend has an 86 rear too but its on his truck still. he may trade me if i give him my 4 link. saves him the trouble on the axle side, and i wanted to do a lever setup any ways.truck lays rockeri have no idea about the backspacing. i bought these wheels of a random guy off his bmw. i think he said they were on a newer 325

oh and seth, did you make my earings yet?

Nope. Definitely spaced that. Sorry dude. I'll work on it this week.

Anyways, 83 4x4 is 55.5" wide or 56", I can't remember exactly, its a little wider than the 2WD one. And its 6 lug. You To make it a 5-lug axle you would need 5 lug axles. And there aren't any 2WD axles that are the right width.
