Are the frames the same from a 2 wheel drive to a 4 wheel drive? or do i have to find a frame.

i would use the 2wd front clip and rear end and build a new frame for it..the 4x4 frames/suspension are different and usually hang low and are bulky and in the way

well your truck is going to have a differnt ecu, and the obvious transfercase. Im sure that the frames will be quite differnt.

Personally I would just use the parts frame, and build it off the truck....then once you get it to lay properly, stretch it, and drop your body onto it.

I'd say your best bet would be to stretch the two wheel drive frame using 2X3 box tubing to get the wheel base you need. that way your frame is ready for a stock floor when you are. The only thing you would have to change after that is the rear cab mounts I'm thinking. But your right your taco would look sick on the ground.

Thanks guys. I think I will just use the other frame. I just don't want this to be more work then it's worth. If I do this I want to have it done by dropzone or our show.

You will also need a 2wd transmission, and drive shaft. Do you got a Tacoma parts truck or a pre Taco. I would used a pre-Taco frame so you wont have problems with the rack and pinion steering and spindle problems with a Taco frame.

The tacoma parts truck i have has no motor or trans. I think i just need to look at the two a bit more and see what i have to do.
