I had the same problem with the he7s I put in mine so I moved the whole steering assembly forward 1 inch. I've had a few people talk about it's gonna mess up my steering ackerman. But i've yet to drive it yet, still a long way to go on it, to smooth the whole frame.

Could be the placement of the bag. Mine don't rub at all with RE7s. I had to turn the adjuster clamps around though so they faced away from the bag. But the tie rod itself didn't rub.

Shit that picture was huge. Heres a smaller one. About the best I have ATM.

Anthony, it will mess up your steering Ackermann, but without know exactly what you moved and on what truck, I can't tell you how bad it will be.

Ricky, I haven't had that problem before, but you may be stuck making new mounts to move the bag back. I don't know what else to tell you.

would i beable to take a 1/2" out of the pitment/ idler arm?

I'm sure you could, but how strong would it be after that? And it would mess with your ackerman again. Also since they are set in at an angle, shortening them would alter the geometry all together because it would be moving the drag link down a bit. Not work it IMO.

If it rubs the best way to fix it is to move the bag. I don't like the idea of moving other parts of your suspension and steering components. Someone worked hard to get that stuff right back in the late 70s.

I know most bag plates are slotted, but if you have one that isn't you could possibly just drill some new mounting holes 1/2" closer to the cab possibly. Kind of ghetto, but it sounds like you don't want to lop off all your hard work.
