On Mazdas you can take the cross member out then drop the pan. After that you can do the bottom end without even pulling the motor.
This is what I thought. Maybe as the truck heats up the rings swell and seal up. But I don't understand why the smoke really isn't blue.

I don't think it's the head. The first one I took to the machine shop was cracked. The second one he said was fine. It's a different head than was on the truck before, but the truck does the exact same thing.
