workin on a friends truck and he has the 3 inch spindles, lower and upper control arms from chassis tech. he has the lower arm and spindle on but the problem he ran into was with the mounting for the upper arm.. its supposed to mount using the oem cross shaft and then bolt back onto the stock mount. well 1 no way to get the cross shaft into the arm, 2. it doesnt even in between the arm itself like the original arm.3. are you supposed to just make new tabs for it? he said it was a bolt on kit. i knew it would have been better if i had pics but i didnt have a camera on me. has anyone else had problems with that kit? i was thinking to just leave the lower arm and spindle and just use the factory upper arm , he is running hydros by the way.

chassis tech = BLAH! heard nothing but probs from their shit! i ordered their drop spindles about 3 months ago. i opened the box and the looked so shitty/corroded/rusty i just sent them back! never even tried to install them...

Even though what is said about them I have a set of their spindles on my Dakota for awhile now with no problems and my friend has the same on his Dakota. So its prolly a hit or miss.....maybe look around more

just about 1 out of 10 people will get a good product or service from chassic tech, ur better off getting parts from somewhere else and sending those back, if u tell us what type of truck ur helping a friend work on, i would almost asure that anybody on here, including some of the serious fabricators will help you better and give u a great deal on some of the best parts they produce......

well chassis tech only makes 2 inch spindles for 84-95 as far as im aware, so im guessing its a tacoma.

its an 89-95...he told me they were 3", he bought the stuff awhile ago. i thought they were kinda crappy looking but its already bought and done with.

I like ordering stuff from them.. I always get them cheap and they have a problem of sending me two of everything I buy.. LOL I ordered spindles from them and it took awhile to them them here. So when I called just to make sure they sent them, they showed up on my door step and then next thing I know, They send me another set.. LOL They done this with some bag brackets also.. the spindles look new.. Nice, clean, rapped up, and everything.. But I try not to order from them even though I always come out ahead.. lol

If you try to return them you'll have to pay a 30% (or so) restocking fee. The OEM cross shaft should work but not with the OEM bushings. You might need to trim the lip off of the inner bushings. Slide the cross shaft through, push the lip-less bushings through and then the bushings with the lips (along with the washers) will hold the shaft in place. Hope that helps.

^...that makes sense now that i think about it, but if i remember correctly i think we were also having a problem with the cross shaft actually fitting between the metal portion of the arm(minus the inner bushing)

Yeah...that's pretty much the way it is with Chassis Tech parts. I used to install alot of their stuff but finally had to put a stop to it. I rarely had much trouble making it work...but that's just it...I had to make it work. It didn't just work right out of the box and some of the parts needed a bit more strength. The price of the part plus the labor hours spent reworking their engineering added up to a higher quality piece and a quicker turn around. They're very innovative though. I think they just skip the R&D.

I'm sure you could take a little off of the cross shaft to fit it. If you feel that it may be too much you could reinforce it once it's through. A picture would help alot. Good luck!
