steering wheel airbag question???

when you put an aftermarket steering wheel on a taco, is there anything you have to do with the airbag system?? can i unplugg that little box on the trans tunnel?? will the truck still start without all that being hooked up??

disconnect the yellow plug from the box on the front part of the tranny tunnel. Then just get the wheel and bag off and you are good. then go to ebay and sell the f*cker for $$$

I don't remember unplugging anything. I just took my old wheel off and put the new one on. The turn signal thing is removed so you have to turn off the signal lever manually after you turn. At least that is how it is on a 2001.

thats what i planned on doing. just didn't know if that would make the truck not start. should i sell it all as one or sell it all seperately??

sell the whole wheel complete. i say start it at 100 bucks. probably get it. or figure out dealer replacement cost and do half that.

is that what those two black rings are for?? the ones that say you have to spin them 3 times then line up the arrows or something like that.and the adaptor for the 93' pre-tacos will work on the tacos with that thing on the end of the colum??

make sure you also unplug the sensors on the front bumper so the pass. side wont deploy. and the addapter for the pre tacos will work but like on my runner the horn button on the new wheel doesnt work so you will prolly have to come up with a new place for the horn. mine is wired in to the hood squirter switch since the hood squirters were shaved

oh and pull the bulb in the dash cuz its gets pretty annoying looking at it after a while!
