wow....the fuckin starter....this is starting to suck-b/c the ignition module and temp sensor were not the issue I really don't mind replacing all this old stuff but damnit...this tird needs to cooperate w/me .Thanks ppl for the ideas...keep 'em coming I'm gonna fix this piece eventually. By the way...I have a V8 sitting right next to the truck in my shop....I really want to keep the engine that's in it-I like it for some reason

i own 2 2.8s right now man an 87 and a 82!
one is tbi and the other is carbed.if you got a light on get it scanned and see what the problem is...and check your fuel pressure!

check engine light is not on....I replaced enough shit to make it stay off now....but not fix the problem.

have you had a fuel pressure gauge on it?

have not.... can I purchase one for a reasonable price or what?

yeah you can buy them everywhere.i would check the fuel pressure first and if its good them move on..you might even have a bad ecm

might sound weird but i have a 4.3 vortec and it did this and it happen to be a bad cell in my battery maybe get the battery checked out or replace it

cool...I'll do that; the ecm crossed my mind but I wanna be sure before replacing it. I'll test the battery too,just in case.

check the map sensor. its on the breather. if the plug is a little off it will fuck with it.

alright....all that seems cool,but now when I'm driving and it starts to miss/bogg in 5th,if I downshift into 4th and get on it,the enging clears right out and accelerates like it should. WTF???
