toyota runs like poo..help

i just picked up a beater 93 toyota for 300 bucks cuz the guy couldnt get it to run right. he says he drove it back and forth to work and one day it just started missing..replaced dist,cap,rotor,plugs and wires..nothing helped...you start it up ..and it runs smooth..but has a weird miss..its not like its spittin and sputtering missing..but a smooth miss if that makes any sense..and it has NO POWER..gutless as hell..first thing i thought was maybe plugged cat...unhooked that part of the exhaust ..no change...couple people have told me maybe an injector..but i duno..any ideas??

could be a valve.. injector.. some vacume shit. its hard to tell with the 22re. mine does that but its a bad valve on mine. its slightly bent

Yeah sounds like an injector. I just put a smooth intake manifold with different injectors than i had on there before & I had a miss. After going through the normal checks I started unplugging the injectors until i found the one that didn't change how it was running. It ended up being the rear injector wasn't spitting fuel. Put my old ones back in & it ran like a charm

How many miles? Timing chain could have jumped teeth as well...

^^^ .....well so far we are pretty sure the headgasket is shot, it builds pressure in the rad almost instantly when started up...and thinking that maybe the timing chain jumped..causing this..(thanks for the info cookiemonster13)
