Just got done putting the hydroboost in the f-150. I used a hydroboost and master cylinder from a f-350 superduty. Whats happening is when I push the brakes it sounds the same as if you turned the steering all the way one way, like a surging sound. Is this normal? Also if you are hitting the brake you cant steer for a second or two. And lastly the pedal sticks sometimes. Something must be up with something. Please any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks JR

did you bleed the system i dont remeber how but try going to hyroboost.com i believe and they have a forum that tells you how

A friend told my to just steer the wheel back and forth 20 times and that would bleed it. Not sure if that is how though. Thanks

Anybody else know hydroboosters? There is an I stamped on Im guessing that is inlet? Just want to make sure the hoses are not backwards.Im also wonderin if my power steering pump has enough volume? Thanks

i don't know about fords, but i'd check your pump like you said & the filter. my chevy dually has the factory hydroboost & mine started acting up (real touchy...lock up easy) & i changed out the filter because for some reason it was dirty as hell. i'm no expert with this system so sorry if that's useless info, but good luck anyway.

yeah the truck does not have a filter, but I appreciate any thoughts on this. I wonder if the booster I got off ebay used is any good?

try adding a resivior it sounds like you might be a little low on fluid volume

Hydroboots bleed themselves, fords are notorious for having the powersteering pump go bad, looks like you need a new pump or low fluids =)

oh also i forgot, you can start your truck up w/ the powersteering cap off, have a friend turn the wheel from side to side while you check/fill it up. GL
