So I got pulled over here in Wisconsin early last summer and was basically raped. He got me for everything that could be out there on a mini truck. I had to surrender my registration in order to drop the 8 tickets.

My question is, I have two addresses. I was wondering if I register the truck out of state (Florida) and still continue to drive it in Wisconsin can I be ticketed? I know they can pull you over for anything. But if I get a FL drivers license, and FL plates, do I have to adhere to the regulations/statutes/ and laws for a vehicle here in Wisconsin to drive it? There is no way I can convert my truck back to meet the requirements here, just wondering if I found a loophole? I wouldnt think that they would be able to get away with ticketing an out of state registered vehicle in terms of equipment violations?? Thanks for the help in advance!

if you are driving it in THAT state, you have to adhere to their laws. Drive through VA in a bagged/bodyed mini, and let a cop see you. They don't give a shit who you are or where your from, your truck will get impounded and have to be towed out of the state. So it wouldn't be worth your time to even try. Just don't act stupid and don't let the pigs know your bagged or whatever you have on the truck.

Yes, and no. Generally they won't ticket you, if you can prove it's not illegal in FL too. However, they can ticket you for failing to register the vehicle, and failing to list a change of address on your license, if you have an address in that state for more than 90 days, unless you are a student at college. at least that's how the laws are in arkansas. Virginia can get away with giving tickets to anybody for vehicle mods simply because they are a commonwealth state, which means you are responsible for following their laws no matter what. Sorry for the long reply, but you wanted to know. P.S. you can get away with saying your just visiting for a while, but clearly your vehicle is very noticeable, so they will start to recognize it.

That is how it is in Idaho too.

i live in a commonwealth. and it seems that if your truck looks like shit or looks like it could be a back yard hack, they mess with you pretty bad.. if you drive a nice looking truck and stuff, they generally just leave ya the hell alone.

as for your problem.. you can try it, and you cant get in trouble about your license or your plate if you still get mail and bills sent to FL, FL can be considered your primary residence.

yea i agree w/ baker, u can get away w/ it if ur a student from outta state or military, to be honest 9 times outta 10 they wont pull u over w/ outta state plates, but like blitch said... u go into va. and ur screwed used to live up there, the rules blow up there. i have alot of friends up there that have full blown show trucks they drive, and get away w/ it, no idea how, cuz most of em are payin extra just to get state inpec. stickers for the windshields
