HOLY CRAP

I just found a company with their head office 15 minutes away from me. Apparently they have purchased the mold from toyota and some other manufacturers and are reproducing 89-95 toyota pickups and selling them to 3rd world countries. I saw a 4 door 2wheel drive truck with a 4.5 foot box, it was left hand drive 5 speed, the chassis (except engine) was exactly like a 89-95 toyota, the cab and doors were 89-95 style toyota, the interior looked more like a tacoma, the front half of the fenders are like a tacoma, the headlights front bumper hood and grill are like a 2000 tacoma. Pretty crazy! A guy that works across the complex from them came out and told me a little about them, he said those trucks sell brand new for around $5000, not sure if that is correct. I am going to call them or stop by tomorrow. I took some pics with my phone I will try to get them up soon.

clint, i see you live in canada. is it www.toyotafiberglass.com? i talked to the owner about 6-8 months ago and he was talking about this type of venture... hes a great guy and does killer work. he made the bed for my old toyota. if thats the case i think most of the body is fiberglass which would yield great gas mileage on such a small truck w/ a 4 banger running it!.

I dont know the guys from toyota fiberglass, they are about 3 hours from me. This company has a factory overseas and mass produces these vehicles. I am wondering if they would sell parts, like the front fenders and hood for guys like us that want to update front ends?

yeah. get that shit up. i thought about getting some fenders and bedsides from toyota fiberglass in canadia. prerunner ones. then modifying the fender openings back down to stockish height. so its just super wide. widebody yota. haha.
