im wondering what all years and models came with the a4ld( or was it just the ranger) or if any other trans will bolt up and work, i was told that all i have to do is use the bellhouse and torque converter from my 2.3 and it should be the same. i have no clue about this stuff and cant find a trans anywhere thats in my price range.

thanks

a4ld came in explorers and rangers and bronco II's not sure on the removing bellhousing part, but i know all other ranger trans are motor specific.

so its the a4ld i need to look for? is it stamped anywhere on the trans where i can see it or is there a specific code that can tell me what trans i need?

you want to make sure that you use a transmisson from the same motor, cause i used a transmission from a 2.9L on my 4.0L and later i learned they are dfferent gear ratios, now its time to swap another a4ld from a 4.0 into my truck

I used a 4.0 tranny on my 3.0 and it works fine.Just had to change the bell housing
