I just got an 86 chevy crew with a mechanical pump 6.5, banks turbo, th400, and a gear vendor. The motor has just under 40k miles and the tranny was rebuilt a little over 10k miles ago. My aunt and uncle used it to drag a 3 horse trailer and occasionally a travel trailer to the sand dunes. Plans are a static drop, clean up the trim, re gear the rear end to 3.54, and hopefuly some 16" alcoa wheels. The truck is totally stock right now but would like to know how low I can without notching the bed? Also does anyone make a class V hidden hitch so I can hide it behind a k5/burb bumper. I plan on driving it to work, dragging my two horse trailer around, and general cruisin around. I have wanted a dually for a long time and I am pretty excited to pick it up. Pics will be up soon as possible.

It is a dealer installed 92-93 turbo long block mechanical 6.5 that my uncle had installed when the original motor had a piston that decided to exit stage left and move out. They take all of the same accessories, motor mounts, and that good stuff. The truck was originally a 6.2 so its not an amazing swap or anything.

Welcome, it sounds like you got a real nice drivetrain. If you go 6/8.5 you have to clearance the bed for the pumpkin, you can go 3/4, or if you remove some leaves and run helper bags you can probably go 5/6....
