Unplug it and look at your gauges. Whatever drops to 0 that's what its for. My 4.3 oil pressure sensor is in the same upper block location but on the passenger side. So oil pressure sensor is my guess.

But i just read where someone posted that it was a temp sensor for the gauges and there is another one that is on the intake that is for the computer.

I feel even more stupid now I unplugged it and the temp gauge went to 0. So yep, it was the temp gauge. Appreciate it

I work in a GM dealer in the parts department and can tell you for sure it is a temp sensor

That kinda weird for it to be by the exhaust manifold.. You wold figure it would mess with the temp.. I've always seen Temp sensor in the intake.. But hey if I knew why they put things in those places I wouldn't be doing electrical! lol

My sensor for my Autometer gauge is in that same spot on my 350.
