I have noticed that on some of the offroad racing trucks that they run the shocks horizontal to a bell crank which runs a linkage off the other side to the axle. I can see that these are resivoir shocks and they have the res. mounted somewhere on the chassis. Do they have to compensate the valving for this or is it one of the perks to running res. shocks? I am putting on a set of Bilstien 5150 shocks which have a res. but its attached directly to the shock and not a remote mount like what I am seeing used on these trucks. I was thinking of running a shock setup like such if possible.

That is one of the advantages to a nitrogen charged shock of almost any type, they can be mounted any which way you want. The fact that the shocks are charged means that there is no air pocket in the shock fluid and so the shock doesn't know which end is up, nor does it care.

Kind of what I was thinking. Thanks for clearing that up Max.
