Stock floor bodydrop in a nut shell means make the frame shorter and lower the body down and remake cab mounts. This in effect keeps the floor stock and brings the body closer to mother earth.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

I know what a stock floor and a traditional body drop are...but here recently ive read in the mags that people are doing body drops with a stock floor and a stock frame. thats whats confuzing me.

its called a channel its were u keep the stock frame, lower the body mounts and only cut were the frame comes thru the cab

What TJ Parker is saying is what I've always considered an original "traditional" bodydrop where you just "channel" the floor directly above the frame. What you are asking about is not this.

Take a 6" tall frame, chop 3" off the top of it, plate it back up so now it is only 3" tall and make new body mounts that are lower and you have a stock floor bodydrop using the original frame.

nope in the 50's that was called channel in which the 90s was changed when ppl cut the floor instead of just channeling the body to fit over the frame

Mine was done using the stock frame and stock floor. The frame was tall enough to remove some of it and lower the body mounts. It really depends on the frame it self. I can see if the frame is not boxed to replace it with a boxed section but some import minis are already boxed.

when you plate it up you will more than likely use box tubing due to the fact that you now cut the strength of the frame in half and only way to make it work is box it but then again ur making a new chassis to a certain point
