any advice on setting up my steering? if you can chime in id appreciate it all...

i am trying to setup my steering on my ranger again for real this time. i shaved the firewall so i have a blank slate as far as where to come through the firewall with the column. i am using 3 universal joints and one heim joint...is going to a toyota power steering box with an ididt column with a swivel mount through the firewall. any advice? anyone run into any problems they can advise me on to avoid? ive got a pretty good idea how i want to do it but before i cut holes i wanted just to make sure and see if anyone had any horror storries or advice to give while i go eat dinner.

I am not sure as I have only had factory steering on Toyotas. Measure twice and cut once Good luck and post pics please.

i would try to mock up the shaft and the column and kinda get a feel for what kinda angle you will have on it and that should help u know where on the firewall to put it...also make sure you tack(or bolt if they are held on with a set screw) all your joints and try it out and make sure it dosent bind before you make anything permanent..thats about all the info i have
