Projector Headlights

I bought projector headlights for my 98 s-10 about a month ago and i have had to replace the bulb in just one of them 3 times. Does anybody know why it keeps going out or has anybody had this problem. It is the H1 bulbs if that helps. It is really pissing me off

Did you check voltage at the light. Also it may be possible to have a short somewhere in the wiring, and possible ground out, cosing the bulb to blow.

those bulbs take more current than the standard sealed bulbs. ive seen people use relays straight to direct power straight from their battery.

Any moisture in the headlight? Could also be a problem, if there is you could try and put silicone in the seams on the back side.

user error? crummy bulbs?

my daily runs 55w H1s (sylvania's from walmart) which are the same power requirements as any other US bulb, 9005 9006 9004 are all 55-65 watts

if you are running something silly like 75 or 100w then yes you will have problems...

Unless you get them dirty while installing them you should have no issues for at least a year or two. Bythen they will be dimming and it will be time to spend the $5 each to replace em.

Just make sure when you take them out there is no residue on the outside that could be leak related.
