Cheesy title I know...but I was pretty excited on how my inverter install went today.

Here we go, the inverter:

very close up pic of soldered wires to the back of the switch on the control board (not very good at soldering):

Mounted inverter in a tool box in the bed:

Plug in and switch mounted (almost looks like it should be there from the factory):

Dash back together:

Yep, it works!:

Here's the bed:

I was really excited with how it came out and it was way easier than trying to build a place to mount the big faceplate or put holes in my speaker box. I plugged an extension cord into the inverter and then cut the other end and spliced the wires into the back of the plug in that I stole from the old inverter that I have been using for the last 4 years that finally died.

Let me know what you guys think!

That looks really clean. I think a metal toolbox would be cooler though.

just a question whats it for?

/\ It is for work, he uses a printer(see photo #7) while driving and has to have a power inverter to power it.

Great work as always!

Thanks, yeah a metal box would be cooler but it's under a bed cover too so it's not very visible

I print out window stickers & buyers guides for car dealerships. We have to use laser printers because inkjet doesn't handle sunlight (and is crazy expensive), laser printers take a LOT of current to run so I needed a big inverter

Thanks, I just hope it keeps working when I get out in the field and really test it out. I kept the inverter fully functional including the switch so at least if my outlet and switch dies, I can always use the original ones.
