The last time that I put the Isuzu on a lift one of the front bags popped. I realized that when the suspension starts lifting up, and the upper control arm starts pivoting down, the front bags rub really hard against the inside of the upper control arm, thus causing it to pop. I need to put it on a lift again to do some minor work but can't afford to keep popping slam bags. Is there anyway that I can chain up the front end to keep the suspension from maxing out on a lift? Or maybe put a support rod in between the upper and lower lca to keep them from pivoting? Any ideas? Thanks ahead of time... And no I can not redo nor afford to replace the upper control arm for the smartass that is going to come along and say that, unless you'd like to build me 2 new ones and ship it to me for free then I'd be more than willing to do that

I think you just answered your own question. Wrap a chain around the lower conrol arm and tie it up to something high in the engine bay, and maybe do the same for the upper control arm.

Or maybe take the wheels off just before you lift the truck all the way up, it should remove the tendency of the suspension to want to sag so hard.

^ Or, limit straps.

or trim the upper arms

front shocks....or limiter straps like seth said, cheap and simple and saves you $$...which keep ur bags from over expansion thus ripping the bowl out of the bag. im assuming you have no shocks on the front??

are you guys for real just go up enough to take the weight off the bag release the air from the bag lift truck this is not hard nor dose it involve any limiting straps chains ect this isnt hard dont make it hard

Ya, from the sounds of it he's popping the bag on the control arm not pulling it apart. If you get it on the lift then let the air out I would think that you would be ok to lift it up but you could alway remove the wheel to take weight off the suspension and keep it from sagging as much like mentioned above.

yea the bag is popping on the arm, not ripping apart because of lack of shocks... thanks for the help I'll try the slight lifting up part then deflating the bags and then taking the wheels off if needed. Then go with the limiting straps/chains. I'll be putting it up sunday so I'll post up how things go. Thanks for the help

i had a freind one time and he had the same problem...the same ocured to another budy that left his truck up on jack stands but what we did to keep the weight off the bags we cut a pipe and put two eyelets on the ends and put it where the shock was (we took the shocks off and bolted on a solid pipe) and that worked for us ...hope that helps you man
